To create privacy without erecting visual barriers – to close off without closing off. This was the objective in redesigning the stone-paved area around the swimming pool at the prestigious hotel ‘La Réserve’ in Geneva. Columns, staggered rows of trees, cubes of yew and box are planted in “hide-and-seek” fashion, so that everyone may find the degree of privacy that suits them in this checkerboard of plantings. In addition, a canopied summer space, cleverly conceived down to the last detail of its furniture and table linen by the management of the hotel, has been created amongst olive trees and alcoves of greenery.
