Major earth-moving work was required in order to transform this former public rubbish dump into a rustic valley. The levels were reworked, the stream was channelled, paths drawn, plantations restructured and, finally, a pond was created. If the effort that went into this landscaping work goes unnoticed now, it is because it was born of a very fine understanding of natural settings: these days, visitors to the ‘Vallon des Fossés’ marvel at the wildness of it, which can only increase with time.
